When John actually meets him, Chazz is revealed to be a lazy man-child who still lives with his mother.
But the boys just tragically love the whole thing: John visits Jeremy at his house to confront him for his absence and catches him having sex with Gloria. Claire is upset by his appearance, prompting John to profess his love to her and his regret for his past behavior in front of the congregation.
Over the following months, Jeremy manages to keep his relationship with Gloria a secret. Betrayed, Claire turns away from John and the Secretary tells them to leave.
While there, he reconsiders his belief in love and marriage after witnessing a grieving widow. At the end of a season of successful crashes, Jeremy takes John to a wedding for a daughter of the U. Wilson, Vaughn et al might be getting a tiny bit smug about their status as the kings of comedy.
John overrules Jeremy to accept as it would be great to get to know the family. Jeremy realizes that he himself has been played and that he may be in love with Gloria.
John and Claire continue to bond the next day on a sailing trip. The suspicious Sack calls his friend, Trapster, to privately investigate John and Jeremy.
Their style is to crash weddings, establishing bogus identities and credentials at the ceremony itself, scoping out great babes in the congregation and then breezing into the reception for the kill.
While he recovers, John and Claire go on a bike ride to a secluded beach. Gloria invites Jeremy to spend the weekend at the Cleary family estate, and John sees the chance to be close to Claire, in spite of her engagement with the arrogant Zachary "Sack" Lodge.
Our heroes are student throwbacks, like the characters in that Frat Pack locus classicus Old School, partying dysfunctionally hard and aware that they are getting the weeniest bit old for this sort of thing. After Secretary Cleary refuses to defend him, Sack angrily demands Claire to get back on the altar.It was the wedding crashers against Sack and his peers.
